This very special CD-ROM brings to you the unique work of photographer Eric Kroll.
This disk is about revelations. It reveals the bodies of beautiful women, it reveals a facet of our culture, and it reveals the mind of Eric Kroll. It also, if you permit it to, reveals something about yourself, no matter what your age, sex, or political persuasion.
With regard to the first of these: here are eight women laid bare for you. They pose in antique underwear, in rubber, PVC, leather. They pose topless, bottomless, nude. They put on make-up, dress and undress, spread their legs for you, and shave themselves. They are without privacy.
With regard to second revelation: These are not entirely isolated incidents. Kroll is an artist, yes, and his models work with him to realize his unique creative balance between the pin-up and the fetish photograph. Kroll's photographs are like darts, thrown with the skill of a professional photographer, professional makeup, professional coiffure. But they are not entirely isolated from a larger social context. Some of his models are indeed strippers, professional dominants and submissives, and sex-industry workers. His costumes are indeed made by an industry consisting of hundreds of companies, thousands of employees, millions of dollars. Kroll is not weaving substance in a vacuum, he is a documentarian of the first order, showing us ideas that are already currency among millions of people.
With regard to the third revelation: Read the texts that accompany the pictures and you will learn a great deal. These are, after all, real pictures of real people. They are, yes, getting paid, yes, it is work for the models, but what drives it all? Kroll shares this, and this is a rare commodity. If you are a man, you may discover that your relationships to the women in the photographs are not so unusual. If you are women, you may discover an aspect of men.
With regard to the fourth revelation: You're in this space too. Good! This is a disk about revelations. Everybody bares something. Simply enjoy it. It won't hurt you. You may become aroused. And you may become wise.
